GT500 Mod

Worklog: Here
The Mustang GT500 is a classic 1960's V8 fuel guzzling muscle car equipped with the 428 cubic-inch Police Interceptor engine. The new GT500 as driven by Will Smith in I Am Legend is equally drool-worthy and so it seems is Degenerate83's new project, GT500 Mod.
Other eye-popping features include gullwing side panels, a candy orange paint job including bright orange water-cooling radiators and front snort holes that remind us of supercharger intakes and are sure to make this just as popular as any other mod this month!
There's no chance of a virus-fuelled zombie outbreak here though. Degenerate83 took things nice and slowly at first with some Sketchup designs which clearly depict his idea for a gull wing side panel design and some sexy go faster stripes amongst the orange paint job.
Here are the front air in takes with a mesh structure. They're actually meant to depict headlights rather than some turbocharger intake so that's our mistake! These were then coated in fibreglass and edged with filler which was then sanded to create the rounded lips of the headlights, behind which a Black Ice double 80mm radiator will sit.
Side mounted optical drives aren't uncommon this month but Degenerate83's example is rather snazzy in being slot loading. To emphasise the candy orange paint job, he's also painted the radiators a vivid shade of orange.
The mod is really coming along now and here we can see the sidepanel opening mechanism starting to come together. The case has also received it's paint job and we can see one of the bright orange radiators mounted in the front too.
